02:30 pm - My glorious return to thinking in (techno) print I've had a bit of a change of heart in my reaction to the world around me. I've decided that no matter how overwhelming it may seem, I need to be better informed. I need to grit my teeth and delve into the world of politics and moral conflicts to try to ratoinalize and understand the issues for myself. Newspapers and television are useless to me in the level of understanding I'm aiming for. I don't want to know the current 'what' that is happening, I want histories that give context.
Part of this is to understand myself and why I react to ideas and events the way I do, so as not to fall victim to my own prejudices. I'm going to be reading up on different subjects and when I think I've been fed a decent amount of opinion and fact I'll post an entry about it here. I don't know if anybody still uses the good 'ol LJ but I want anyone who does read this to criticize my thinking to keep me from slipping in my own bullshit.
I'm also interested in any article or book recommendations to help me on my way. Here's a handy dandy list of the ideas I'm currently reading about. - Sex! I want to know about promiscuity, pornography, why shouldn't kids be having sex, what rape victims go through, are pedophiles victims of a neurological disorder or just gross old men?
- Is obesity genetic? Is intelligence? Are there any legitimate arguments for eugenics out there or are they all Nazi run-off?
- Feminism, racism, and what my role should be in it as a privileged white male
- Vulgar and violent media, am I wrong to love it?
- Religion religion religion, positives, negatives etc.
If you are reading this let me know. I'd like to know if anyone will be there to offer me feedback.

06:33 pm - So hey guys, what's up? Oh me? Well I can't feel my arms. I've been to the gym... y'know, workin' the guns. Gettin' buff n' shit. I felt the need to do an all access post card kind of thing. Send the word out to anyone who cares to listen.
I'm still working towards improving my artistic ability and getting into Sheridan Animation. My eventual goal is to create a sculpture so awesome it makes the pope break down and cry.
I'm set up in an awesome apartment with a hammock, a bean bag chair, and an awesome balcony. We still need a couch though.
Oh and it turns out that the actual program I'm in this year is a bit of a waste of time. I'm doing my own projects though so the year won't be a total loss. If I can get my shit together the comic I'm illustrating for Stephen Wei should be sent off to print at the end of October. If this thing actually gets published you're all coming out to the bars with me. By reading this update you've already agreed so there's no use trying to back out now.
I probably won't be using livejournal very much anymore since facebook has pretty much taken over the e-world.

02:44 pm Updated: 7:11 p.m. ET Aug 15, 2006 "JERUSALEM - An Israeli woman's breast implants saved her life when she was wounded in a Hezbollah rocket attack during Israel's war with the Lebanese group, a hospital spokesman said Tuesday.
Doctors found shrapnel embedded in the silicone implants, just inches from the 24-year-old’s heart."

04:03 pm I've made my journal friends only so that I can keep track of who reads it. If you want in just post a comment here and I'll add you to my friends list.
It's pretty safe to assume that if you're not on my friends list we're all talking about you behind your back.
